Scout (Skips Roostin Star) is a 4 year old with an 8 year old mind. He is quiet, Quiet, QUIET. He is 100% safe and great minded. I have let all the kids around the place ride him. He rides nice inside, outside in the working pen or outside of the fences. He takes his leads well and has a GREAT stop. I bought him as a green 4 year old (he was started late as a 3 year old because of his size) as a project to bring along a little further and move on to a home with kids. He has progressed nicely and is ready to start meeting his potential new family. He is 14 hands / 56 inches. Some shows would accept him as a pony because of his height. I am not representing him as a pony but it's worth noting. He is such a great minded gentle horse that he can easily be finished out the way you want......or arrangements can me made to keep him in training. His price is subject to increase the more time that is spent training him and the better he gets. He will be hauled to shows (maybe shown some) to get experience off the place. As a 4 year old your kids can learn on him and progress with him throughout their whole childhood. This is one of those rare finds......such a young horse with a such a great mind and quiet personality. We have trail ridden him, worked him in the indoor pen, outdoor pen, round pen, we have roped off him, the kids have ridden him bareback he is just a really good boy! He has a pretty good roll back started and we are working on his turnarounds, both are coming along nicely. We train Ranch Horses for Ranch Horse Competitions, like American Ranch Horse or Versatility Ranch Horse so his time here will reflect that. This is not one of those ads that turns out not to be as claimed when you show up......He is what I say.....I have references of past clients if you'd like before you come. Thanks for looking!
UPDATE; 7-6-13 Scout went to his first 4H fair. My son showed him in Gelding Halter and Showmanship. Scout performed well and drew lots of attention from potential buyers.
UPDATE; 7-8-13 Scout went to Vacation Bible School at my nephews church. 66 kids all over and around him in an afternoon. The last picture is him being ridden in a halter and lead rope at the VBS event.
UPDATE: 7-13-13 Scout rode along to the State Fair Barrel Race at the Fair Grounds in Springfield. The newest picture posted is my son riding him around the grounds (all over the state fair grounds) if you notice he's doing that in a rope halter. Won't be long that these types of exposure raise that price up......He is a wonderful young horse!
