Lily is an amazing chestnut mare that I have owned for 2 years and been riding for about 3.5 years. She mainly walk/trot/canters, but if someone wanted to continue to work on building muscle she has the ability to gait. She is 14.2 hands and is build very stocky.
Lily is a dominant mare though and needs an intermediate rider or a trainer to work with a beginner. Anyone can handle her on the ground, but she is stubborn about getting going for hard work and gets easily frustrated when learning or working on new things. She has never reared, kicked, or bucked, but she will refuse to move or starting backing up. When I first started riding her she was very barn sour, but she is now willing to go outside and explore and be ridden alone if you start out slow.
I am leaving for Texas to go to school and I really want to find her a good home. I am willing to negotiate price. Lily did founder this spring, the x-rays show we caught it early and she just had some minor inflammation, but she is going to need to be closely watched in the spring on high quality grass. She comes with a winter blanket, bridle, lead line, and fly mask. Please call me with any questions 541.619.7833.
