Ian is my project pony I picked out of an auction in October 2012. Very flashy, minimum white buckskin tobiano with dun factor; dorsal stripe, leg barring, shading, and two-tone mane. He came from an Amish farm and was sold as broke to drive, but I have not used him for driving.
I have ridden him exclusively English since purchasing him.
He is still green but is consistently improving with each ride. He has walk/trot/canter down well, going consistently over cross-rails. We are working on consistency in the bridle; he goes in a full-cheek french link snaffle.
Already went to his first schooling show and what a saint; did not flinch at the strange surroundings, was quiet in the ring, and finished 2nd-1st-1st in his trotting pole classes. Bathes, clips, can pull mane and braid with no sedation. He came from an Amish farm so vehicles/roads/tractors/dogs/screaming children don't faze him.
I am not selling him as child-broke, but with some more miles he would be a great child pony. Can walk/trot/canter with kids now, just needs more time over fences. I'm not sure how broke he is to drive or his aptitude for western riding.
Would be perfect for an older child/teen working under an instructor, or a smaller adult rider. I am 5'5" and 160lbs and he has no problem carting me around (I'm riding in his jumping video), or my trainer (flat video) who is 5'8",
Very much a pocket pony! Sticks on concrete at 13.1 1/2 hands. Vet/deworming/dental/farrier all up to date. No bad habits. I am selling him so I can purchase something horse-sized for myself.
Would consider partial trade for 17" or 17.5" medium tree dressage saddle.
Indoor and outdoor arena on site to try him out. Lease options considered.
Willing to provide shipping at $1.50/mi within reasonable distance.
