Willie is smart, easy to train, and willing to please. He neck reins, ponies other horses, knows leg cues, side passes, backs, and is learning his lead changes.
Was previously a ranch horse, and has done sorting and team penning. Currently a trail horse, and also does well in an arena.
Smooth ride all the way around; nice trot, slow lope, and will give you the speed WHEN asked. Also has great brakes!!! He is listed as a 4 because he is not a lazy horse and can go all day, but isn't a hot head either.
Great ground manners. Stands quietly when tied, grooming, tacking/untacking, mounting/dismounting, bathes, fly spray, etc., etc. Great for the farrier and vet (does well with shots, worming, etc.,). Jumps right in the trailer and remains quiet, no pawing or kicking. Is great with geldings and mares, and is mid to low in the herd. Very easy keeper. Also keeps his stall tidy.
Willie is not a beginners horse, and would be best suited with a confident rider. He would make a good 4H horse for an upper level/older 4H'r.
It is my desire to find him a home where he will be ridden/worked more than once or twice a week. Recent change in job requirements does not allow me to give him the time he deserves, which is why he is for sale. I have more than one horse, so its been a hard decision on who stays and who goes.
UTD on coggins, vaccinations, teeth, feet, and de-wormer.
A good home is a MUST! Price is negotiable for the right home.
Delivery may be an option. Distance and $ to be negotiated.
