Gus is broke to ride and has been ridden on trail rides. He is the mule in the middle at the top of the mountain. He was broke once and then not ridden for a while and then I had him sent off to be ridden again. (I got cancer and was unable to ride him after the first time he was broke, so we gave him a refresher). He is 15+ hands tall.
I raised him from a baby and he was imprinted. He is a big baby and is always in your way, I have a hard time playing with anyone else because he wants all the attention.
He had his first REAL big trail ride last Oct. in Capp Rock. He learned how to negotiate mountain terrain. I have had the pack saddle on him and worked with him, but have not taken him packing yet. He picket lines or ties to a trailer and is not spooky at all. Does not have a problem with crossing water or going over things. He has not been taught how to jump fences.
I am raising ponies for children now and he is going to waste in my pasture, plus the Cancer has limited my horse activity. He need to be ridden and taken away from his siblings who he has grown too attached to. He would follow them to the end of the earth, which is one reason he would make a good pack mule.
I have a lot more money in him than I am asking, but don't feel like the market will bear that amount. I want a good home for him and someone with Mule knowledge would do well with him. Though he loves my little girls I don't feel he is for kids.
I have a craigslist ad on him with lots more pictures.
