Feather joins us from Maryland after a brief and unsuccessful racing career--she ran four times and earned two seventh and two tenth place finishes. In spite of being the daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Go for Gin, she showed little racing talent, and no desire to be a racer.
Since joining us at A Pinch of Luck, Feather has been given time to settle in and decompress from the stresses of racing. We've not yet started her retraining--she's yet to tell us she's ready!... (read more)
Feather single and cross ties and is great for the farrier. She's not a huge fan of grooming, though she's a good girl about it most of the time--she loves soft brushes and a gentle touch!
Feather is suitable for a rider looking for a competition or serious riding horse. She's a high intensity mare who reportedly regularly worked three to four miles daily during training. She is highly intelligent and enjoys being challenged. This mare has incredible gaits and phenomenal scope (she decide that solitary turnout was not for her and joined a pasture herd two fields over--after jumping not one but two 5 1/2 fences!).
Special consideration will be given to performance homes--please call Heather at 404-267-3398 or visit our website at www.apinchofluck.com for more information about Feather and other Thoroughbreds looking for homes.
We use and highly recommend The Horse Jitney--www.horsejitney.com.
