Captain is a flashy up and coming dressage star. He has the swing and bounce that dressage riders are looking for, coupled with an excellent brain, and lots of athleticism. He is currently at training level, but improving rapidly. He has a balanced wt and is progressing with his canter. His gaits and flat, with elasticity and impulsion. He carries himself well along his topline, responding to leg, seat, and hand pressure. Captain also hacks out quietly, alone or with others. He has great ground manners and is a pleasure to work around. He is very personable in and out of his stall and would make a great in your pocket horse at his forever home. He bathes, trailers, clips, stands for the farrier, and is good for the vet. He is 100% sound, with no vices. A video link is available on our website. Serious inquiries appreciated.

Anchor Creek Farms -
We specialize in buying and training young draft cross horses. Each horse is initially started on the ground in a round pen, learning the basics of lunging, backing up, and turning on the forehand and hindquarters. All of this is taught with the main focus on gaining the horses respect. We also desensitize each horse to tarps and other objects, as well as farm machinery, lawn mowers, and vehicles. Once the groud work phase is completed, their under saddle training begins with introductory/training level dressage. It is important to have a well balanced, collected and properly muscled horse before asking them to go further in a particular discipline. Following this, horses are asked to do gymnastic excersises over small verticles and cross rails. If a horse shows jumping potential they are asked to jump further. All horses are also trail ridden on a regular basis and asked to cross creeks or any other obstacles along the way. It is very important to have a well rounded horse. When a horse is ready to move on to another home, we advertise to find the perfect buyer and place for each horse.
