I would also consider a free lease, but a good home is a must.
Kiss had an injury 2 years ago that has impacted her gaits, and she is no longer able to be a competitive dressage horse. She is not in pain and does not require any medication. I'm very sad to see her go, but cannot afford to keep two horses.
She is still able to be ridden walk / trot or jog, though her trot is a bit choppy. She unfortunately isn't able to jump anymore, though is fine with poles.... (read more) She knows how to sidepass, leg yield, turn on the forehand and haunches, and is very responsive. I have ridden her quite a bit in just a halter and lead rope, and she will steer and stop as if wearing a bridle. She does not bite, kick, rear, buck, or bolt. She is one of the sweetest horses I have ever met! I have a video of her first time being ridden western (and her first ride in many months), and can send the link upon request. She seemed happy to do it! I know nothing about western riding, so someone who does would likely get better results.
She is very conformationally correct and with her great attitude would make an excellent broodmare. Her injury was a result of an accident in a muddy paddock, not anything genetic.
She would also be a fantastic companion horse. She is a "boss mare" in the paddock, but is not mean or a bully to other horses. She loves ground work, being groomed for as long as you're willing, and interacting with people. She loves cookies, and knows many "tricks" on the ground including lifting her front hooves, turning in a circle, backing, bowing, sidepassing, etc. She is incredibly respectful of fencing, and has even been turned out with only a leadrope as a gate without any trouble.
She is a very easy keeper (currently on 1 handfull of grain am/pm so she isn't jealous of the other horses, but that's all) and is barefoot with great hooves. She is great for the farrier, and is UTD on everything (shots, feet, teeth, worming, etc). She bathes, ties, and leads perfectly.
I will include her blankets, halter, lead rope, and some grooming supplies with her.
Please email or call (978-987-7822) for more information. She is currently located in Hinesburg, VT. I have tons of additional pictures and more videos too.
