Additional Comments:
Smokin Silver Cash is a 8 y/o ApHC registered show gelding who also qualifies for the American Quarter Pony and International Quarter Pony registries. I would consider paying for those as a condition of sale. Smokey has been in our family for the past four years. My kids - age 5 and 11 - have shown him on open show circuits and in the 4-H program. He's earned them many high point awards, circuit trophies, and all-around titles. When my daughter was 10, he placed 7th in Hunter Under Saddle Ponies at the 2006 All-American Youth Show in Columbus and he qualified for the PA State 4-H Horse Show in both Trail and Showmanship. No matter where we've hauled him in PA/OH/NY, he's been super quiet and trustworthy with our kids. Smokey has the movement for both english and western, he's excellent at trail, and he's a showmanship machine. He has all the buttons to spur-stop, side pass, and turn on the fore and hind. I've used him for beginner/intermediate lessons at my barn over the past two years. We also broke him to drive in 2006. Smokey is basically a big horse in a pony body. He has horse conformation and movement and a wonderful quiet show mentality. He's the kind of pony that places in classes with full-sized horses. He's registered as dark bay, but if you feed him Black as Knight during the summer his coat stays a beautiful black. He has a gorgeous full tail and great feet - shod or barefoot. He's great to load and trailer, super for the farrier and vet, bathes and clips perfectly, no vices and no soundness issues. He is territorial in his stall, but completely respectful once haltered. He is passive in the pasture and we use him as our introduction ambassador when bringing a new horse into the barn. We absolutely hate to part with him, but my daughter has moved on to APHA/PtHA breed shows and Smokey doesn't have a job. We would consider leasing him to the right show home and we request the first rite to buy him back if he sells. Feel free to contact me with questions. We will "interview" anyone seriously interested, but his price is negotiable to the perfect, loving, show home. *Update - video has been posted at
Youtube Video It came out very dark, but you'll be able to see how Smokey tracks well, gets up under himself, and moves overall. He had been trail ridden a dozen times, but not worked in the indoor since November.
