Ashland is a senior mare that would be a great for a someone with some horse sense. She has been used for beginners to learn how to groom. She can be rode both English and Western. She gets along with the other senior mares at the rescue and causes no problems. She has been put out with a pony and the pony was boss of the turnout. She stands good on crossties, good for the vet, good for the farrier, and good to trailer. Ashland was found on the side of the road by a farmer in June 2012. The farmer caught her and called animal control right away! Animal control called us to come pick her up and warned us that she was very underweight! She was brought to our quarantine and doctored there until ready to be moved to our main facility. She has put on about 500 pounds and is now ready to find her forever home! If you have any questions about this great mare feel free to call. No Text please.

Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County -
Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charitable organization, is dedicated to rescuing equines that have been subjected to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Unconditional Love and Care is given to each equine as we rehabilitate them back to a healthy life. We focus on providing a safe home, proper nutrition, medical treatment, and vital companionship as part of our daily routine. Furthermore, we desire to ultimately find an approved permanent home for our horses once they have been thoroughly nursed back to health.
We can also help people by giving them the opportunity to relinquish there horse(s) what ever the reason might be, so they don't end up, on web sites as "free horse", auctions, or starved. Please remember we are limited on room but please feel free to call to see if we are full.
