Additional Comments:
Simon is a super minded, athletic easy going gelding. He has been used to rope calves at branding time and move cows. He has also been used at local gymkhana fun days, 4H lessons (spare horse) and reining clinics. He has had alot of miles under saddle and is used to traffic, dogs, wildlife, machinery and children. NOT SPOOKY.
Simon is very light, catty and quick. You do not need spurs and rarely need your hands. He works off your legs and seat. He has a very soft mouth and is very sensitive. This gelding can outwalk a 16hh horse with ease. He is comfortable and easy to ride. He is not figity or high strung. Simon gives 100% all the time.
Simon must be used 3 or more times a week. IF you give him more than a couple of days off in between riding him, you need to work him (we use our round pen) for a while, as if you don't he will buck. He is "cold baccked". This may be a chiropractic issue, but we have not had one out to check him, we just work around it. If you ride him a couple of times a week he is the best horse around.
Simon is sired by Smooth Too. Smooth Too had a AAA speed index and was a California Superhorse. He was a champion rope horse and was also used as a Rodeo Pickup Horse. Simon exudes much of the same characteristics of his sire, and could very well follow in his hoofprints.
The only reason we are selling this great gelding is he is just sitting in the field going to waste here. We are looking for a great home where he will be used and have a job. His price reflects our wish of this, not his quality or his training. We are ONLY asking $2500+gst Canadian!
