Laya(Half Arabian/saddlebred-NSH) is a registered horse just about anyone with some experience can ride. Wonderful silly attitude. (Hard to find the stubborn) In your pocket personality, very very fast learner. Still extremely curious about everything. Just like a filly. She needs some more ride time to improve on the trail obstacles but we cross water, bridges, tunnels, logs, holes, ledges... etc.
Great grandaughter of Bask--Leya is a registered half arabian / saddlebred (NSH) 6 year old mare residing in North Carolina.... (read more) She has been strictly trail ridden and remained very sensitive to all cues and has never had a bit in her mouth. (So she has a soft mouth to work with.) She has not been trained for any specific discipline so she is free to go in any direction. Although she is 6 years old, I don't think she has been ridden more than 150 times since the start of her training and has already proven to be a great mount for the intermediate rider. Note: The only reason I am selling her is that she has separation anxiety. When out of sight of the herd, she begins to spook at random objects: Red dirt, birds, shadows, grasshoppers... I do not have time to work with her on this but she would make someone an awesome show or breeding prospect. I have ridden her in group rides with no issues at all at Latta Plantation, Moses Cone, and Anita Alta horse camp, private trail rides and she did great. Seems to have a ton of endurance and will still get up and go at the end of a day's ride.
She has a beautiful extended trot and lots of showiness. She stands for the vet and farrier. Ties, loads, bathes, clips etc. This mare would be an excellent breeding prospect but also a possible show horse as I think she would learn incredibly fast. She's still super sensitive on all cues. Up to date on shots and has current negative coggins. She goes to a GREAT home only. Please do not be offended but I love this horse and have worked with her from the very beginning and I will only allow her to go to a home I approve. I just can't afford to board 2 horses so I can ride 1. Contact me for videos of movement, riding, and more photos. She was sweepstakes nominated when she was a filly from what I understand.
