Additional Comments:
Giles is a wonderful young gelding with an easy disposition. We sometimes call him Eeyore. Slow and easy with children, double ridden by small children, and a grumpy old man attitude despite his youth. Nothing really gets him, generally 'spooks in place' with a start, but doesn't go anywhere. Not a kicker, can get lippy but doesn't bite, mostly he's looking for treat. Easy to train for tricks, and has been introduced to the spanish walk, just for fun. Ridden english and western, shown green at a couple of shows in halter, showmanship, and western. He doesn't seem to care about which saddle set you use on him English or Western, it is apparently all the same to him. Needs a good training program for proper muscle development, muscle is best when we were conditioning him for long trail rides. Rides well on the trails, didn't care about being first or last, but if he is tired or sore he will give fuss about going back out. Would benefit from shoes if you like to ride on roads. He seems to be suited for flatwork, and would be an all around great pony for 4H or open shows. May do well in speed event for an enthusiastic youth, but may not excel in speed. He *can* be fast if really pushed, but generally is slower and easy going. When pushed into a fast trot he paces. Might make a good pleasure cart pony. He would benefit highly from finishing on bit work and improvement on cues, as well as teaching leg aids. All around, my favorite and most trusted pony for youth and small beginners. We have just started him on a smartpak solution to address possible joint / hoof issues as after a good workout he tends to tiptoe. Otherwise, he is an easy keeper and a joy to have around the farm. In the pasture, easy to catch but will 'show' grumpy, unless he thinks you have treats. He is a very good boy that needs a loving home. For sale or lease, negotiable, priority is that he goes to a fantastic, approved home, with a contract signed for No Auction / No Slaughter / First Option clauses.
