Additional Comments:
Here is the story on this horse. I bought him as an 8 yr. old. He has always had a ton of endurance. If riding with other horses he is happiest in the lead and is a natural at following and scouting out trails. He will reluctantly fall back if wanted/needed. On the 3rd day of a 3 day trail ride he might appear that he could possibly be tired at the end of the ride.(My husband brings both his Quarter Horses so he can switch out)He has been as tough as any horse I've known. Very sure footed, great health. At times has the neatest gait which I believe is called an Indian shuffle, a fast paced smooth walk. Always more than willing to go anywhere I asked. Tons of heart. Friendly, but not over-friendly. Leads, shoes, saddles, and bits up easily. Takes baths and fly spray well. Accepts hobbles. Doesn't spook easily. Very easy keeper with regular worming schedule and being turned out on pasture. Gets along great with other horses. Has always done great with dogs under saddle, but my older dog sometimes had to watch out while in the pasture(he may have provoked the horse a little too). The sad news, a few years ago he had an eye infection that was misdiagnosed and the end result is loss of sight in one eye. I never noticed a difference on the trail, but of course you want to announce yourself while approaching that side. The need to sell this horse comes due to an addition to our family which forces me to opt for a slower pace on the trail. Can e-mail additional pictures
