Catulena Boon is a coming 5 year old mare, granddaughter of High Brow Cat on top and Boon San Lena on the bottom. She is registered with both AQHA and ARHA (American Ranch Horse Association). “Lela” is ~14.1 hh but is very broad and stocky, with good bone. She is a chestnut rabicano (not a true roan, but with a high degree of “roaning”) with a “coon tail.” She is sound, has good feet, and is a very easy keeper.
Lela leads and trailers well and is good for the vet.... (read more) She had not crosstied before I bought her (she was always tacked up in her stall), but has since learned to stand nicely at crossties. She also had not been shod before I bought her in November, and is a bit nervous for the farrier, but this has been improving. (She is fine with the trimming portion of farrier work, just needs a bit more exposure to the actual shoing part.) She is good for tacking up and accepts the bit well.
Lela is well-started under saddle. She is solid on W/T/C, stopping, backing, and knows her leads. She has been started on cows a few times and showed promise with them. Lela is not a “hot” horse, but she has lots of energy and could work all day! Her previous rider was an 8-year old girl, and she would be a really fun horse for another young rider to compete on. She is ready to be finished in the discipline of your choice. She is well-bred and would also make some lovely foals!
I am asking $5,000 or best offer. May consider trading.
I have many more pictures of her -- please feel free to email if interested.
