Pocos Black Market is his registered name. We call him Medallion. He is a sweet sweet horse who LOVES human interaction. He is not a super trained horse, I will be honest, but since he has come to me he has learned both direct rein and neck reining. He knows walk, trot, canter, and back up. He loads onto a trailer like a dream. He could use some work with ground manners just because sometimes my lesson kids give him so many treats that he has become kind of nosy. At the moment, we only ride him at a walk because he has arthritis and when he trots he has a limp. My vet said it is a common thing in horses and not to worry. He said to just give him regular exercise and possibly even a joint supplement.
Although he does have arthritis, I see him running and trotting around in the pasture with his pals. So we know he is capable of doing it, he just needs to be loosened up. I have 3 horses right now, and sadly he just is not getting the attention he needs. He should be getting ridden at least 2 times a week, and also be given ground work throughout the week too. Doing this will keep him nice and comfortable. I am a student so I am struggling to just ride two horses and give lessons, let alone play and work with him. He would make an exceptional child's horse or trail horse. He LOVES water! He has gone swimming in a pond and he loves his baths.
He has been ridden both western and english and does best with a copper snaffle bit. He has quite a pretty trot when he works his limp out. UTD on vaccines, worming, coggins, and farrier.
NOTE: He cannot do barrels, poles, or any speed events due to arthritis.
