"Oak" is an adorable, sweet, 7-month-old colt. He is one of those foals that was born broke, VERY willing, kind temperament, always eager to please. He was imprinted and is very people-friendly. Affectionate, loves scratches and grooming. Handled daily since birth -- very simple, uncomplicated little guy. Very easy to catch, leads, ties, crossties, loads, handles feet, hobbles, vets, and worms. Loves the trailer. No kick or bite. He is a puppy dog in a horse suit -- once he has bonded with you, he will follow you anywhere and everywhere. With his gentle disposition, he would make a great youth 4-H project, training campaign for a youngster, or future family trail mount. Oak was part of a breeding program to re-create the proto conquistador war horse that was brought over to the Americas in the 1500s. He is 25% PRE Andalusian, 25% Paso Fino, and 50% SMR Spanish Mustang. He inherited the best of all breeds, being hardy, intelligent, and smooth gaited with a handsome Iberian build. His conformation is very sturdy and balanced with rock-hard black feet. He is a stocky, solid little guy and will mature to approx. 14.3 hh. He does have appy traits like his dam and will progressively shed out into a gorgeous snowflake pattern. Easy keeper, very thrifty and tough. Will make an exceptional endurance or competitive trail horse -- goes on weekly "hikes" and crosses water, fallen timber, thick brush, rocky outcrops, etc. with ease, very surefooted and confident for his age. Started on basic natural horsemanship groundwork maneuvers and respect exercises. Has the mind and body to be successful in virtually any discipline and will be a true all-around horse.
