I am offering for sale a 3 year-old Grey Thoroughbred/QH Cross--Saddle Prospect. He is ready to be gelded and started under saddle. I am still calling Beau a 3 yr old since he will not be 4 until late this summer. His Sire was 15H and his Dam 16H. After Beau is gelded I would expect him to grow some more and mature at or just under 16H. He is approx. 15.1 to 15.2H currently and still growing. His Dam was also a favorite saddlehorse of mine and she could really travel the pastures and move cattle.
I recently brought Beau into the corral and he folllows me around and comes right up beside me to say hi--even had my hands on him a couple times--even though he is not currently halter trained. Great saddle prospect to go in any direction and will have plenty of size to him. Would not recommend for a novice to train, although anyone with a little experience would do great with Beau.
He has always been sound--never lame, always kept his hooves trimmed running out in the pasture. I really like Beau, and I've just had too many projects going on and have not had the time to work with him. He's a great saddle prospect if you're looking to train a horse that will have some size, speed, and all his heart. No bad habits to re-train either:) .As you can see in the picture--he's even curious about our cats and not jumpy or anything. Can e-mail more pics.
