How cute is this 15.2 14 yr old cremello mare? Quarter horse and built like a tank. Snowbird's family donated her because she has a few issues to work through and their 14 yr old daughter has lost interest. She is no monster but will halter pull at times. (This is one is my specialties, after dealing with Shadow last year, the 17h thoroughbred who was a bad halter puller and who now is completely over it) and she does not like to ride out alone and will have a drama moment.... (read more) She does not buck or rear but does know how to scare her previous owners and win her battle. I am very excited to be able to work with her and find her a new home. Love this mare! I had a chance to work with her today for a while. Did not halter pull in the cross ties so that is good. She learned to walk with "respect" by the time we had gotten into the arena. She backing on my body and I had an over abundance of licking and chewing and head dropping. She was giving me big sighs and was just overall a HUGE sweetheart. When this lady is ready, she is gonna be an AMAZING mare.
LOL. Experienced her behvior today riding bareback in the arena. She is toooo funny. Yup head tosses and pops up. Jumped off lounged the living crap out of her and popped a saddle on. Tim hopped on and she was a fricken angel. She would pin her ears but didn't even think about being naughty. We also had her in a snaffle bit. I was told she would only ride in a bosal. She did very well, every once in awhile she would kick up on her bit but nothing toooooo bad. She is exactly what I thought she was, a spoiled mare.
Snowbird has been doing great! I have yet to have her halter pull n me and she is just too funny. She is what i call an earless mare. She is traveling a lot better but tsill with toss her head at you when she doesn't want to do something. She would make a great prospect for someone with experience who will ignore her temper tantrums and keep her feet moving. She does not come across as a bucker to me, but prefers someone who can offer clear expecations and boundaries. She did a great job tonight and we need to work on picking up her right lead.... at the end of the da, I really like this mare. ♥
