We are reluctantly offering our pride and joy blue roan Friesian cross mare to a good home only. This mare is the whole package - excellent conformation, disposition, intelligence, manners and she is stunning. We owned her dam and still own her sire and have raised Sapphire from a foal. She is exactly what we had hoped to produce when we started breeding Friesian crosses and we kept her as an example of the quality we strive to produce. We are retiring from breeding and moving to a smaller farm, so are parting with our mares.... (read more) Several have gone to good homes already, and it is time for us to look for a new home for Sapphire. She was bred to a first premium purebred Friesian stallion for a 2010 filly and produced a gorgeous blue roan 3/4 Friesian filly that year. She is shown in some of the photos in this ad. That filly was sold for $6900, so not much less than what we are asking for Sapphire now. Sapphire is bred back to that same stallion for another 3/4 Friesian foal in 2013. Sapphire has excellent manners and is up to date on vaccinations, worming and trimming. She was never broke to ride, but she is such a sweet mare that it would be easy to do. She foaled easily and was a perfect mother to her foal - attentive but not aggressively protective. We have several photos of Sapphire and she is here at our ranch if you want to come see her. She does have a scar on her left front leg but was never lame and will easily pass any vet check. We guarantee that you will love this mare or you can send her back to us. Photos 1, 2, 3, 6 & 8 show Sapphire at the age of 4 with her blue roan filly. Photos 4 & 5 are Sapphire at the age of two. Photo 7 is Sapphire's blue roan filly at weaning time and the last photo is a recent picture of Sapphire at age 5. Photos of her sire and dam and more photos of Sapphire available on our website.
