Coast is the real deal. He has a wonderful personality and is as kind as he is handsome. He retired in 2009 from a successful racing career and went home, as so few racers do, with the owner he ran for throughout all of his races. Sadly for Coast, his owner fell gravely ill and he was left in the care of someone unskilled in the management of horses. Enter a foster mom who nursed him back to health and found us to help him find a new perfect home.
Coast is sound for riding at walk, trot, and canter and is an ideal pleasure riding horse. He has an osselet on his right front ankle that limits the flexibility in the joint, but that doesn't stop him from happily doing his thing. He's a beautiful horse, super fun to ride, and is suitable for just about anyone. He's so light in the bridle, responds well to his rider's leg, and is willing to do just about anything. On his first ride in years (and his first ride here, too), he trucked around the ring like he'd been here every day of his life. Work for him can be anything from flat work in the ring to a blast through the trails. Jumping should not be the focus of his work program, but the occasional pop over a cross rail or a log in the woods would probably ice the cake on an already wonderful ride.
This amazing horse is great out with his buddies, loves pop tarts, and enjoys a good grooming with the best of them. He's great for the farrier, relishes attention, and deserves a great home with all the love in the world. He loads and ships great, and clearly communicates that he's willing to go anywhere--it's obvious that he's never questioned the people in his life. He takes us all at face value and is as trusting as can be.
