We purchased Chilly from a 12yo rider and parents who stated she used him as an eventer including all 3 disciplines, for pony club in Maryland. We saw pictures of him in events at time of purchase: however, we have not used him for that in over a year. We do not have the skills to ride dressage or cross country. I ride western and am only learning how to post from my 9yo daughter! :-) We bought him for his puppy dog personality, ground manners, and jumping ability.... (read more) He was my daughter's first horse and she learned w/t/c on him and how to jump. She has taken him to 18" but that is her current fear limit. :-) He had 60 days prof. training May-July and she used him for lessons with her adult and older students. He did 2ft 6in no problem with them. Currently doing that height now with adult who is half leasing him. We have not tested him beyond that to be honest. Not because of any issues on his part, only ours. He does trail ride and enjoys it. He loads in ramp or step up trailer. We have a 2-h bumper ramp load and our trainer had a 4-h step-up. So he is used to both. He is great in a stall and while weather is nice he is out in pasture. So he is great either way. He is handled and groomed by 7-10 yo kids, so he has great ground manners. He was just wormed 2/1. H
farrier 3/22 having been trimmed, currently barefoot. He is due April 2013 for shots and coggins. He has been out with mares and geldings. If he is with a dominant horse he is bottom of herd. Will consider on farm lease as well. $250/mth for two days per week or $350 for full lease, five days per week.
