"Peppy" is a big, strong, kind and exceptionally handsome sorrel gelding with a pretty head which he inherited from his sire, GENUINE DR PEPPER, who was APHA World Reserve Champion Reining Horse in 2001. Peppy's dam is a very athletic, quick, fast little appendix AQHA mare with DOC OLENA, SIR QUINCY DAN and racing bloodlines. Peppy is still owned by his original breeder and has spent months with several trainers over the years to broaden his under-saddle experiences. He has been ridden by novices as well as experienced riders in a large indoor arena, down the road, throughout the desert and rugged hills and most recently spent over a year as a working ranch horse on the big, hilly and rugged GI Ranch. Peppy has a great disposition and a good work ethic for a confident rider; he is smart enough to be stubborn or a bit lazy if allowed with a novice. He has been started in team-roping with plenty of speed, positions himself to rope off of and has been a good partner in doctoring lots of cattle on the range and in the branding pen. With Peppy's excellent mind and conformation, his future could be as a great trail companion, for sorting, penning, team roping, arena competitions or as a working ranch horse/partner which the whole family could enjoy. Peppy is only being sold because his owner is now elderly and he deserves a fun, active new home where he will be ridden/used.
