'Joel' is a registered Rocky Mountain Horse gelding and is typey! Dark chocolate with flaxen mane and tail. He was raised by a local couple who used him as a trail horse until he was six year old. They said they could put anyone on him. Over a year ago, a riding student of mine, a 15 year old girl, bought Joel and has spent a lot of time with him. She has refined his training and put lots of miles on him. He is not quite a beginner horse as he has lots of energy, but has so much training and experiance he is next to it. Due to an unrelated injury, the girl is not currently allowed to ride and is being forced to sell. She insists Joel goes to a good home where he will be ridden and loved. I am just trying to help her find that right person for Joel's new home.
She was preparing Joel for some local shows, so he is good with arena work. He knows his leads, backs, side passes, etc. She also rode in the mountains a lot and moved cows. Joel has lots of stamina and doesn't tire. He is happy crossing logs and creeks, etc. He loads in the trailer good, is good with his feet, stands tied. I don't think anyone has worked with him on gaiting, but I'm sure that someone who knew how, could teach him. He has an animated extended trot, and his jog is fairly smooth.
Sorry I don't have any good pictures yet. This picture doesn't do him justice, but gives you an idea of color. I will take more pictures soon so let me know if you are interested and I will send them to you.
