I have for sale a very large and very calm 17 yr old John mule named Dillon. He stands at 17hh. We are guessing his dam was either a percheron or a Belgian. He is bombproof and will let anyone of any age ride him. You can crawl under and between his legs and he won't move a muscle. He has been around many animals and at his current location is with goats, cats, and dogs. He is good with the farrier, loads like a pro, and is extremely calm and laid-back in any situation you can think of.... (read more) The only time he gets uncomfortable is in a stall. He gets claustrophobic being trapped in a stall. He much prefers living in a pasture because that's how he has always lived. He is broke to ride and has been on many trails, but because of my current life situation, I have not had the time to ride him in quite a while. He prefers bitless bridles or hackamores because at his previous home he was ridden with a bit and bridle that were much too small for him. So if he's ridden with a bit, he will try very hard to get his tongue over the bit and he usually succeeds. This isn't a danger because he won't run off or anything, but it's just very uncomfortable for him. I really hate to have to sell him because he is the sweetest mule I have ever met and he is the definition of a gentle giant. I am forced to sell him because what is going on in my life at this time has resulted in me needing to move, and I can't bring him with me, which is heartbreaking. A good home is no doubt a must. He gets lonely and will pace if someone doesn't hang out with him at some point during the day... it helps if he's with other horses/mules, though. Feel free to ask any questions.
