He is a dark golden color in the summer, built like a western pleasure horse with a good top line. He is colonel freckles bred and nice ~ He is just a little more horse than My husband (who has not been riding long) needs for a 3 hour trail ride. We bought him from the woman who raised him and have had him a couple of years. He is sound and has good ground manners, up to date on everything and stands for the farrier; loads, fly sprays and all of the usual things except clip and I just have not worked with him on that (my fault, not his).... (read more) He has that 'into everything' personality that is so teachable and has a great natural tracking ability, quick as a cat, neck reins, sides passes (probably rusty) rides off of leg pressure. First one to the gate talking to you. We ride him with a bitless headstalls and he does great. He crosses water, rides the river, down through the woods and makes a trail, and has a good ground covering walk. Not generally spooky but he has been in the pasture for the last two months and not ridden much. He does fine in the front and in the back. He has a nice jog and lope ~ but could be a little slower for me. I wish had had him years back when I was team pinning ~ he would be great. We can not ride for a long period of time due to a car accident and He is just not happy walking around on the trail a couple hours once a week and I see so much there, potently being wasted. Would be great at barrels, team penning or sorting ~
We raise miniature donkeys and Boer goats; On occasion we will run across a great horse looking for a forever home and I just can't resist helping out. We also run a horse broker/pet sitting business. You tell us what you want and we will find it.
