Additional Comments:
Sugar is a 12 year old registered Paso Fino mare with great bloodlines. She stands 14hh, but don't let her small size fool you- this little mare can carry any average sized rider with no problems! She has a wonderful (and fast) steady four-beat corto gait and rarely falters. When she's fit, she can go for miles and needs someone who can keep up with her brio (spirit).
Sugar's been trail ridden a bit and does great at Masterson Station Park even with all the distractions. We take her over and through some of the cross country jumps as obstacles and she is looky but not spooky. Goes through water, over logs and poles, etc. She has some talent at jumping and would do well under someone who can train her properly, she will go over small jumps either under saddle or on the lunge. She's also been ridden by a Dressage rider and I believe she would do very well in gaited Dressage given more training. She lunges in a rope halter with all gears, stop, and reverses. Unfortunately, Sugar does need more miles and some advanced training which I am unable to give her due to a chronic back injury (not related to the horse!). She's also done some mounted pony games (green, but generally tries) and she rides either bitless or in a french link snaffle.
She would do best with at least an intermediate rider who has time to put into her, she does not do well with an occasional rider. She is very smart and willing, but you have to give to get with her :) Would be a wonderful pony for a barn rat teenager who can keep up with her or someone who likes a trail horse with spirit and style!
