This mare was rescued; we bought her to get her out of a bad situation. She was pregnant and not being fed very well. We thought she would make a great driving prospect but we just do not have the time to work with her. I am unsure of her breeding but my vet agrees she is a draft cross. I do know if she rides or not; I was told she did but I do not trust the source. We have tried her under saddle and She was very willing and did not fuss about saddle or bit.... (read more) When a rider mounted her she was not upset at all and was willing to walk with a rider on her back. We do not have time to continue working with her. We do feel at some point someone has worked with her under saddle but still needs more time. If she was worked with everyday I feel it would not take long to get her riding. So she is being sold unbroke until she proves otherwise. She is approx 14.1 hands tall and real wide build. She is an easy keeper; requiring little grain when she has plenty of hay or grass.
She did have a little filly two months after she arrived on farm and was an excellent mother. When we weaned her baby she had also taken on a orphaned colt and was excellent with him also. Her filly is also for sale; she is also black.
