Checkers is as solid and honest as they come. Huge heart with lots of try! He is a handy size, standing right about 14.3, and built like a tank weighing in at about 1100lbs. I cant say enough about this gelding, he is the whole package, No holes or Vices, and he can do it ALL! Safe for the whole family. Great for novice to experienced riders... crosses water, pulls logs, works cattle, pasture ropes, trail rides, swims in the pond, rides double, bareback and bridleless, been ridden in shriner parades, carries flags and more...Ride him everyday or lay him off for a year, he rides the same each time. Watch all 3 of his videos( go to youtube and type in Reiterfarms, if you cannot find all 3, text me or e-mail me and I can send you a link,I will have him on my website soon as well)... He explains himself... Checkers has had the same home for the last 8 years of his life and is now ready to find a NEW FOREVER home... He has a nice trot and lope but he is NOT FAST(good handle) Works off your legs, or the rein(for those kiddos that cannot reach his sides).. he WILL run the barrels and poles and do all the playday events, and he will rope a cow... but your probably not going to win a darn thing on him unless your in a beginners class. Checkers is the kind of horse that loves everyone and everyone loves in return. Trooper on the trails, will make a nice 4-h or lesson horse, he is very patient, kind, and easy to get along with. Stands for the ferrier, loads, bathes, and will stand tied all day! He is 100% sound. And vet checks are welcome at buyers expense.
