Additional Comments:
"Mercedes" is a stunning big bay thoroughbred mare, 7 yrs old, 16.1 hh. She is full TB, but I do not have her papers, so unfortunately, she has to sell as grade. I tried really hard to track down her jockey club papers and find out "who" she really is, even went as far as getting a private investigator, but all to no avail. I got as far as finding out she had some race training, but wasn't fast enough and sent as a 2-yo to the OBS where she was a parking lot deal outside, and never ran through the ring. The woman I bought her from never planned to breed or show her, just wanted her for a personal riding horse, so she didn't care about registration. I have had her for two years and never had an issue with her. Never colicked, never lame or sick. She is absolutely beautiful, nice and stocky, wide QH-type build. Nice bay color with about ten white hairs on her forehead. Black points. Rides english or western, fine for exp. beginner and up. Traffic safe, will ride out front, middle or rear of a group. Been down the road tons of times. Has had 1 foal, easy breeder and a fantastic mama. Currently in foal again to our perlino stud & due 8/08. Foal should be another lovely buckskin! Up to date on everything, and Coggins pulled in October, 2007, so good for almost a year.
She's a nice mare personality-wise and does really, really well in a one-on-one situation with her rider, especially when ridden regularly. After foaling and probably almost a year off, went right back to riding again with NO foolishness. I would say her ONLY vice is that she does not care to have her back feet handled, but she isn't mean about it. A patient farrier can manage her however. Ours does, but he complains that she leans on him!! She is my 14-yo daughter's horse primarily, but she is sadly losing interest in horses and getting more interested in boys!
We are asking just $1500 for this nice, in-foal mare, in the hopes of a quick sale. Can recommend a FANTASTIC shipper for distances.
Shipping Notes:
Shipping is buyer's responsibility, but I can recommend an excellent one.
