Registered Kentucky Mountain Gaited Horse (gelding), with wonderful Palomino color, smooth-as-glass gaits, and qualified as a search & rescue horse. Older owner must sell his horses because of Parkinson's diagnosis. "Wind Walker" is 11 years old and was sired by Prince Wind Walker. If you wish to contact owner, please call 740-405-7175 rather than e-mailing.
In spite of being weak and unsteady, his owner has been riding Wind Walker alone in public parks at every gait. As former head of maintenance for all the county parks, he often rode this horse to patrol the trails. Wind Walker was also used for trail riding, camping, and regularly took part in a mounted search and rescue group. He competed in, placed, and won hunter paces.
Everyone who rides him loves his gaits. A rider who likes to move along will appreciate this horse. Wind Walker is really a very good trail horse and has been great trail riding and camping in Hocking Hills and other areas with very challenging terrain. He has no problem with bridges, streams, or mud -- a very going horse, and smart and willing.
Wind Walker has not shown any issues with deer popping out or other animal encounters, or noises, vehicles, bicycles, tarps, or even the freight trains that run along the park's edge. He loads and trailers well, and ties without a problem, including camping overnight. Good with other horses in turn out or riding near other riders. The farrier says he is a pleasure to handle. Wind Walker is friendly and likes attention. Very sound with no vices. Up to date on shots and shoeing.
