Additional Comments:
REDUCED!I've owned Tank for 4yrs. He is striking to look at, has a great conformation, and best of all the sweetest disposition to go with it. The person I purchased him from in Tenn. told me she used him for trails in the mountains, parades, and gaited shows. She even said she dressed him up on Halloween and went trick or treating! I have used him mostly for trail riding. He has done very well on the ACTHA rides and always gets the judges attention. He is steady as a rock (as his name implies), has a 'draft-type' personality-nothing really bothers him. He gets along with other horses, no bad habits, will lead or follow on trail, and usually ends up leading because he doesn't spook. He is 5 gaited, walk, trot, slow gait, fast gait, canter, and will move out into a ground covering speed rack when asked. His canter is very smooth. Since I have owned him, I have taught him softness w/collection, leg & seat cues, turn on forehand & haunches, a nice stop, back, side pass both directions, and to work gates. He is patient and intelligent. He knows all of the obstacles listed on the ACTHA website, and others. He crosses bridges (flat & teeter tot), creeks, and hills. I am regretfully selling him because he is not getting the attention that he deserves. My kids main focus is drill team, which doesn't do gaited, we are focusing more on ranch/reining w/QH's now, and he is too great of a horse to sit in the pasture. He does everything-ties, loads, clips, bathes, and is good w/vet, farrier (he uses a loud electric sander), and worming. He has great hooves, goes barefoot, except on very rocky terrain, then uses hoof boots. He is an 'easy-keeper' and will put weight on easily, so we limit his grass intake w/a grazing muzzle when the grass is lush, esp. in the spring & fall. He would do best w/limited grazing & grain, w/hay supplemented, or just hay year around. I have never had him be lame, foundered, colicked, or sick. UTD on vaccines, coggins, wormer, and teeth floated this year. He needs an intermediate/advanced rider only because he is sensitive to seat/legs, balance of seat, and rider needs to have a developed 'soft feel' w/hands. He will only go to a select home. Vet checks welcomed. Cash only. Can deliver w/in a 45mi distance for an extra fee. There are 3 videos on youtube--search Tank racking,Tank racking bareback, and Tank, SSH Movie
