'Cortez' is a beautiful, flashy, energetic 13-year-old gaited Kentucky Mountain Horse gelding. He is taller and more heavily muscled than many of his breed, but expresses the very smooth ground-eating gaits and happy personality the breed is noted for. Cortez is very forward and a go-getter, having competed in several endurance rider over the last few years. He loves to explore new trails and country; the more he is ridden the happier he is and the longer he wishes to continue down the trail. He is like a mountain goat in steep and rugged terrain, and goes through water without hesitation. Cortez is sound and recently went through a vet exam where he was updated on his shots, worming, dental work, sheath cleaning and even has brand new shoes. He is friendly and gets along well with other horses, and can be pushy on the ground so needs a firm, knowledgeable but not a rough nor abusive handler both on the ground as well as under saddle.
