Gorgeous black bay mare that can go anywhere with her training. She is 14.1 hands with a stocky build. She would be an awesome horse for an experienced teenager or pre-teen, or a small to medium sized adult. She is a beautiful mover and could excel in lower level dressage or jumping. She is still green and needs more miles, which is why I would not recommend her for a beginner unless under the instruction of a trainer. She is compact and athletic enough for working cow events or reining. I have taken her on a few trails, and she did very well although she does need someone to help her build confidence on the trail. She has crossed water, walked into the ocean, and under piers at the beach no problem. This mare is ready for you to finish her training in whatever discipline you desire! Roxy clips, bathes, ties, blankets, loads, stands for the farrier and vet. She is an extremely easy keeper. She does fine on quality hay and/or grass alone although I do feed her a small amount of Triple Crown Lite. She is currently turned out in a small mixed herd 24/7 and has never been kept in a stall. She adapts easily and I'm sure would have no problem getting accustomed to being stalled. She tends to be the alpha mare in the herd, but is not a bully at all and gets along reasonably well with everyone. She is current on vaccinations, coggins, worming and teeth. She is 100% sound, but does have a scar from an old barbed wire injury. I have owned this mare for almost 2 years. I rescued her (along with her dam and sister) from a neighbor who could no longer care for his horses and she was starved and neglected at one point in her life. I have spent the last couple of years rehabilitating her and getting her used to being handled and ridden. She has been a very easy mare to work with considering the situation that she came from. I am selling her because I have a horse that I am showing on the Appy circuit and I don't have time to work with Roxy as much as I would like. Because of her history, it is a MUST that she goes to a great home. I will require a buy back clause so I have the option of purchasing her if you ever decided to sell her.
