UPDATE 1/25/2008 Lena is doing great. We had a new set of xrays on her and everything looks great. The vet thinks she will be sound as soon as the ground thaws out a little. UPDATE 12/31/2007 I rode Lena yesterday and she was great. She is really doing good with her feet. It is really hard to tell that she ever had any problems with her feet. I think she is almost there. Her price will be going up when she is 100% UPDATE!!! Lena is on her second set of corrective shoes and she is doing great and getting better everyday. She is almost sounds. She still has a slight short step in front but it isn't a limp at all. Lena is a wonderful mare. She has excellent pedigree and is an excellent mother. She is currently sore footed but I have taken her to the vet and with two more shoeings she sould be sound. Lena is the type of mare you can leave in the pasture a year and she will be the same horse when you do go to ride her. The vet said she has a dropped sole and with proper shoeing she will recover. Lena has been used to trail ride beginners and gather cattle. She lead, load and trims with ease. She neck reins really well too. She is the type of mare I can jump on bareback in the pasure with a halter and lead rope and ride her back to the house even if I haven't rode her in a long time...If you are interested in giving Lena a good hope please call me at 479-381-6900.
