Additional Comments:
Pepper is a sensational young horse. She is exceptionally athletic and would make a wonderful endurance horse. She is good on the trail and is naturally brave. Spooks are seldom and when they happen she plants her feet and stares. Pepper is currently right at 15.2-15.3 hands but she is still growing. Spotted Saddles tend to keep growing until they are around 7 years old. Her full sister grew 2 inches between 4 and 6 years. Pepper will also add muscle bulk as she matures. Pepper has a good, sound mind and learns very quickly. Her ground manners are excellent. She stands very well for her ferrier and her vet. Pepper has been healthy since birth and has outstandingly good hooves. She has never been shod. She does have a narrowed tear duck on one eye which causes some exterior drainage. It does not affect her eye, but I keep a fly mask on her when not being ridden.Pepper is naturally gaited, although she still needs work to keep her in the running walk. Surprisingly she can also do a slow jog that rivals my foundation quarterhorse! Very smooth. I have worked with Pepper so that she can now do a medium speed walk as well as her natural faster walk so she can be ridden at a pace with Paints and Quarters - nice for group trail rides.Pepper loves people and comes when called. She is not dominant in the field but not a push-over either. When I needed a "nanny" for my weanlings I picked Pepper and her sister for the job because of their sweet nature. They are fundamentally gentle. I can leave the stalls open and it is amazing to see the two large Spotted Saddles in the same stall with two yearlings. Now you may wonder why I want to sell this wonderful horse. I really don't, but Pepper deserves more riding time than I can give her. She truly loves being ridden and has the potential to excell as an endurance or competive trail horse. I can only ride her once or twice a week and she would really do best where she was ridden multiple times a week. Consideration will be given to a home where Pepper would get a chance to truly demonstrate her amazing potential. Please call Leslie, 352-538-4991, for more information.
