Soldier is a 20ish year old former Amish buggy horse who was rescued off a broker's lot after no one showed any interest in him and he almost went to slaughter. He has undergone a rehab program to get him healthier and adjusted to a more relaxed lifestyle so that he can be adopted out to a forever home. He stands perfectly still for tacking up and is suitable for a small adult or an adolescent with some basic horse knowledge. He is UTD on vaccinations, teeth floating, worming and hoof care.... (read more) He also has a current negative Coggins that is good until May 2012. This little gelding has blossomed into one of the sweetest horses I have ever known. He has a small spot on one eye that may limit his vision on that side a little but he deals with it just fine. He does ride and has a nice slow canter but I think he would be happier driving and/or being a companion. I am looking to adopt him out to a permanent home where he will be loved and have only occasional recreational use. Soldier is not aggressive with mares or other geldings and is currently at the bottom of the pecking order. Adoption fee and contract are required. I would consider reducing his adoption fee even more to an exceptional home.
