Additional Comments:
Sweet as pie mature mare. 24 yrs. young, 17 hands tall. Sweet and gentle. She is who my youngest daughter (11) rides when we go trailing, as well as our kids' not-so-confident friends. Lacey is really a fantastic confidence builder for young kids or for any timid rider, i.e. an inexperienced hubby! She is very well preserved for her age, and will have many more years ahead. She is up to date on worming, and vaccinations, but truthfully, does need her feet done. (Our farrier got into some trouble, and I can't find another one who comes out on Saturdays!!!) I would not recommend her for a youngster that wants to giddyup all day long, or as a jumper, but more for someone who likes to go "down the road", or out on a quiet trail ride. Now, that said, you better have a pilot's license to sit to her canter. She's long legged and can still move it out!! She loves water, so a pond for her to splash in would be nice, too. She has NO spook, NO buck, NO rear, NO bite, NO kick, NO bad habits, just a good, sweet been-there-done-that older mare who enjoys carrots and brushing. She fits well into a herd and I would say in my herd, she's 2nd in command after the alpha mare. She lives outside now, with a run-in, but in her younger days at the track, she was used to barns and stalling. She's used to kids, dogs, cats, traffic, nothing fazes her.
She has been exposed to and was mounted by our perlino dun stallion in mid-May, so I think it's safe to say she is in foal and due mid-April of 2009, however she has not been ultrasounded. But then, neither has she come back into heat! The foal will be palomino or buckskin, and can be registered AQHA, APHA, AAHA and either PHBA or IBHA, depending on the color. She had a foal in 2007 by same stallion. That foal was a huge palomino colt with the longest legs I've ever seen on a newborn. He now lives in West Virginia in a PHBA show home.
Lacey comes with both her registrations (JC & AQHA), vet records for the time I've had her, halter and fly mask. Can email tons of photos upon request. |
Shipping Notes:
Transportation is solely buyer's responsibility, but I can recommend an excellent shipper, Pride of the Fleet (ask for Phil).
