Additional Comments:
Buddy is a gorgeous palomino POA gelding. He is very gentle and well started. He's been ridden by inexperienced riders in a round pen both saddled and bareback. I have been teaching a friend of mine's daughter who has never been around horses before to ride on him. She was too scared of my more finished out horses due to their size, but isn't intimidated by Buddy and has been handling him just fine in the round pen. He is a sweet little guy that is eager to learn and willing to please. He's stout enough for a medium adult to ride, but also perfect sized for children. He has a wonderful comfirmation and is gorgeous in every way. We have ridden him in a snaffle, hack, or grab a halter and lead and ride him back up to the barn. He neck reins a little, is very attentive to verbal cues, and has an excellent stop. He is still young, and although very well started, probably still needs some miles put on him before you turn the little kids out lose on him. In a few years, if you continue his training, you won't be ale to find a better horse. He has an exceptional attitude and personality. We bought him back in December of 2006 at a local horse sale when he was on deaths door. He weighed about 200 lbs and was nothing but skin and bones. On top of being severly starved, he also had strangles and an upper resp. infection. When I bought him, I truely expected him to die before I could get him home, but he had a will to live and hung in there. He fought the stranges and was healthy again in less than a month, but still very thin. By spring, he was fat and completely healthy and we started his training. He has never bucked, even the first time we put a saddle on him and got on. He lunges well, knows his round pen work, and rides very nicely. He will just keep getting better as he gets older, but we have no small adults or children, so he needs a wonderful home with someone who can use him.
