Freckles is a gentle, sweet, gorgeous and well gaited mare. She is 15 hands and well built with good endurance and is very sure-footed and when ridden regularly she is a real dream to ride. If she hasn't been ridden in a while, she will test her rider by acting barn sour when asked to ride out alone and needs a rider who isn't afraid to spur and whip her into shape. When ridden confidently, she is a great horse for an average rider, going anywhere she's told and easy to control, and even total beginners can ride her safely and easily if she's following other horses. We recently took her on a two day camping trip where my 13 year old son rode her. She did great! I really love riding this mare and she will make an awesome horse for the right person! Come give her a try! She's easy to set at the speed of gait you want and then rides with a loose rein easily and doesn't have to be held back. She'll ride well with your non gaited friends and is very calm and relaxed or she'll gait the day away covering many miles if that's your style, and either one is fine to her...and all the while giving a total Cadillac ride! I've GPS'd her speeds and she'll walk at 2.5mph, flat walk at 4.5-5mph and rack, foxtrot & run-walk at 6-8 mph very smoothly. She can go faster but her endurance drops and she's most comfortable at the above speeds. She has a great easy trail lope and canter. She has had babies before but is currently not bred and is open. We've reduced her price yet again, now that we realize she can be totally perfect but after not being ridden for a few weeks she needs some strong discipline to straighten her out again...then she becomes very submissive and obedient and is a GREAT ride!
