Star is a nice 7 year old, very well broke Welsh Pony mare. She is a seal brown/very dark bay color. She is about 12.2 hands tall and is a good medium sized pony. She is not-registered, but she is definitely a purebred Welsh pony. She was previously used for lessons and she has been shown. She does not buck, kick, bite, etc. She has absolutely no bad habits under saddle and has been ridden both western and english. She is good for the farrier and the vet. She jumps right in the trailer and will stand tied quietly for hours. She loves to be brushed and is good with the clipper. Her only bad habit that I would like to mention is that she can be hard to catch at times out in the pasture. To minimize work, it would maybe best for her to be kept in a stall or small dry lot. I'm sure if someone would continue to work with her on this, it would be easy to teach her that this is NOT OK. I have been working on it. She was a kids pony for years and somewhere down the line someone let her get away with it one to many times. She isn't always hard to catch in the pasture, just on occassion. I walked out to see her in the pasture this afternoon and she didn't move an inch. I just want to make sure to disclose everything that I know about her.
She will canter and hand gallop when asked and she is very responsive to the bit so she would be best suited for a rider with a little experience or a few lessons under their belt. She has also given pony rides on a leadline to 2-3 year old kids. Current negative Coggins.
I only own geldings and having a mare around has been causing some "arguments" between the guys so unfortunately I need to find her a new home. She also needs a job and doesn't get used enough here for me to justify keeping her. She gets along well with both mares and geldings.
The photo that I have posted was taken last spring before she was shed out for the year. She is much prettier now :-) I will take some new photos of her this week. Please e-mail me if you would like to see additional photos.
