Mickey and Dale are two large (18+hh) Belgian geldings. Both are UTD on Coggins, worming, vaccinations. Both geldings are easy keepers and good with other horses. Neither of them kicks, bites or have other aggressive behavior. They stand calm for the farrier. We purchased them from a carriage company where they had several years of pulling carts in a downtown urban area, although we have not had them under harness. We bought them to ride. Mickey rides well under saddle including with children. He actually is at his best in crowds standing proudly for photos with people and loves the attention. Dale is not saddle broke. He acts very businesslike when saddled but does not like anyone on his back. His behavior leads me to believe he would do very well under harness. He can be a bit skittish with being caught. He needs to build up trust with his owner. He'll come to me but usually not to my wife. He will nearly go to sleep while being brushed. He's our best horse with the farrier. I suspect he had an abusive owner before the carriage company had him. He has some old scars and certain actions scare him. He needs a gentle hand for his warm heart.
We are parting with them since we got them to ride together. With Dale not being saddle broke, we don't have a riding partner for Mickey. They've been together for several years and don't want to split them apart. Asking $4000 for the pair, negotiable. But we are willing to sell Dale alone for $1700 (obo), Mickey is $2500. Thank you.
That's Mickey in the picture. For height reference, my wife is 6' standing with Mickey. Dale is an inch or two shorter and broader. Will email more pics upon request.
