May has a wonderful personality and has been shown quite successfully in open shows in halter and showmanship. She is broke to ride, and would probably do best with an intermediate rider. She takes both leads, backs, sidepasses, pivots, etc. She has no bad habits and is up to date on all of her vaccines, dewormings and farrier work. She is just a great horse to have around. Her only downfall is that she cannot be turned out to pasture. She had a bout of laminitis early this summer, and although she has returned to normal and is completely sound (x-rays show zero rotation of her coffin bone), the laminitis will return if she fed fresh grass.... (read more) She is fine eating both alfalfa and grass hay though. I will only allow her to go to a great home that will take good care of her and will assure me that she will not be turned out to pasture. The only reason I have chosen to sell her is that we dont really have the facilities to keep a horse off of pasture. If it werent for this reason, I would definately be keeping her. She is truly an amazing horse.
