Woody is one one of the "Kansas 5" rescued in the spring. They had been running on 120 acres all their lives. They were picked up by the Curly Horse Rescue in the spring. None of them had been haltered more than a couple of times nor had they had their shots or seen a farrier though their feet look good. They have since been in foster care in Kansas and are ready to move on to individual homes to progress in their training and confidence building.
Woody is about 10 and the biggest of the Kansas 5. He is the lightest of the buckskin/duns, no white on him at all and is shy so tries to hide behind everyone. Can be haltered and leads. He and Cinder are best friends but both will make great partners with a good trainer. He met the vet and was actually the easiest to get the vet work done with and we thought he would be too uneasy. Just has that Curly curiosity. Not Registered.
The Curly Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation incorporated in the State of Vermont, with representatives and volunteers across the US, Canada and in Europe. CHR is a fully volunteer run organization and is 501(c)3 non-profit recognized by the IRS. You can assist the CHR horses through monthly sponsorships, donations, fostering rescues, or adopting one of the rescues. Most of these horses are saved from the kill pens and broker lots and require extra care to start with. These Horses have lot more to give and deserve a second chance.
If you are interested in adopting Woody, applicants must complete an adoption form and must be a qualified home. Sometimes this process can take a bit of time as we are all volunteers, so please be patient. Woody's adoption fee is $500. He is currently being fostered in Kansas. Thank you.
