Jasper would make an excellent hunt, dressage, or jumping prospect He has a lot of potential and willingness to learn, as well as an easy horse to ride and work with. He is super quiet and very responsive. He will w-t-c collected, pick up both of his leads, and yield to leg pressure. He will do shoulder in, sidepass, and pivot on his forehand and hindquarters. He has a very light mouth too. He is great on the trail and doesnt mind going out by himself or with other horses. He also doesn't mind being in the lead or being behind. He is very steady and light on his feet. I have done some small jumps with him, and he seems to enjoy it. He is great around other horses. is good with his feet, clippers, bathing, and trailoring. He is used to different riders too. He is a great horse with tons of potential.
Company / Facility:
Anchor Creek Farms -
We specialize in buying and training young draft cross horses. Each horse is initially started on the ground in a round pen, learning the basics of lunging, backing up, and turning on the forehand and hindquarters. All of this is taught with the main focus on gaining the horses respect. We also desensitize each horse to tarps and other objects, as well as farm machinery, lawn mowers, and vehicles. Once the groud work phase is completed, their under saddle training begins with introductory/training level dressage. It is important to have a well balanced, collected and properly muscled horse before asking them to go further in a particular discipline. Following this, horses are asked to do gymnastic excersises over small verticles and cross rails. If a horse shows jumping potential they are asked to jump further. All horses are also trail ridden on a regular basis and asked to cross creeks or any other obstacles along the way. It is very important to have a well rounded horse. When a horse is ready to move on to another home, we advertise to find the perfect buyer and place for each horse.
