Dark Pine Olena, "Mac" is great on trails, crosses streams, is not afraid of cattle, deer or traffic while riding, and would make a fabulous addition for someone wanting a QUIET trail horse.
A 12 yr old girl rode him for hours, and he did everything she asked, including walking over, and standing on a tarp!
Mac will make someone a great trail, show, or 4-H horse. He is not at all spooky. I'd love to see him go to a 4-H or show home, but any home where his quiet,, calm, reliable nature is appreciated is great.
He has great conformation, and is absolutely show quality. If we still have him by the 4th of July he will be ridden in the parade as well.
He is very calm and easy to catch, current on hoof trimming, worming, and shots and is not afraid of dogs, bulls, farm equipment or other traffic, gunshots....
Mac is an easy keeper and has great ground manners.
He is calm... but not a deadhead, he will do anything you ask of him.
Mac is a registered Paint, APHA registered name Dark Pine Olena (look up his bloodlines on allbreedpedigree dot com) He is double SMART LITTLE LENA bred.
He is 4 years old, and has done everything we have asked of him, not much worries him.
He will walk right over tarps as well.
We recently took him on a 15 MILE trail ride, and he went through creeks and streams, as well as deep mud, steep banks etc...
He shows a lot of interest in cattle (an whinnies at them when he sees them, kind of funny) After the 15 mile (5 hr) ride we spent the next day parking hundreds of cars on horseback for the Fort Sisseton Historic Festival at the state park, and then rode him through the festival grounds! Cannons going off, guns shooting, a gatling gun going off, all the people and kids and dogs roaming only seemed to interest him. We were parked next to the arena and the horses were tied saddled to the side of the trailer close to the action for the antique tractor pull...maybe 30 ft... it never bothered them a bit.
Mac is flashy near black bay and white tobiano with a star and 4 white feet. 100% sound and healthy, good with his feet, stands tied for hours if needed, loads, bathes, basically does what you ask him, and he does it with a willinig and interested attitude.
If you have a child or adult who needs a confidence building horse, he may be perfect for you. He is just a bit too quiet for me, and we have a wedding to pay for.
He could go Western or English with style.
