If you are looking for a friend, a companion, an amazing trail horse for fields or mountains or a trick horse...read on!
NOTE: Punch just went to the vet and had his teeth floated, his sheath cleaned and a soundness exam performed.
"Punch" is a thirteen year old, ~16hh well built and very well broke, dark appolossa cross gelding. He has been used for mountain riding, trails & pleasure, wrangling horses in the hills, chasing cows, etc.... (read more) He goes through water, across logs and near traffic. He neck reins extremely well, and you can ride him bareback with a halter with only one rein. He rides with a bridle, hackamore or halter.
He is a horse you can trust and depend on, no matter what job you are looking to do. He is very gentle and loves attention. He'll follow you around the pasture to be brushed or simply petted (and he sometimes reminds me more of a dog than a horse as he will carry all the feed buckets around the pasture hoping that someone will come fill them). He is easy to catch and loads well. He has no injuries and is sound. He is not herd bound and will go away from the other horses.
I've used this gelding to chase horses through the hills at a kids camp and I trust him more than I've ever trusted a horse. You can take a nap on him while he is loose in the field or crack a bull whip off his back. He is also great to try trick riding on, and does not spook easily. You can leave him sit in the field for months and he is the same horse when you get on to go for a ride again.
This gelding is not a four or five year old unpredictable young horse - with him you know what you are getting and know he will stay that way, so if you have tried other horses and end up not liking them once you get them home, come meet Punch. Delivery is available depending on location.
Please feel free to call me and tell me what you are looking for, and I can tell you if I think Punch would work for you. I only want him to go to a home where he will be used and where it will be a good fit for the rider (and the horse). The only reason Punch is for sale is that I have too many horses and he isn't being ridden.
