Star is a 10 yo grade Hackney gelding. He was originally trained to ride and drive, but has had many years off just to be a horse. Since we got him, we have saddled him up and rode him some and he is doing really good considering how long he has been idle. Since it has been a while, he is not for the beginner rider, but I do think that it won't take much to get him back up to speed. He went through all gaits very well (WTC), has good brakes, and did not buck or rear. I would consider him trail ready for an experienced rider, at this point he just needs more time under saddle to refresh his brain!! He is a little standoff-ish at times, but is not hard to catch. He loads and leads well. He is good for the farrier and vet. Thanks!!
