Additional Comments:
Ranger is a 12 yr old Quarterhorse gelding. He is 15hh with a stocky quarterhorse build. Ranger has a very laid back personality and seems to have been there and done that. He is extremely well trained and very versatile. He happy to be ridden english or western (you can see videos of both). Ranger has a very light neck rein and really moves right off your leg. He will spin, side pass, half pass, roll back, and stop on a dime. Transition easily into the canter and will stay cantering until you ask him to transition down. He is not hot or overly forward. He is happy to walk until you ask him to do something different. He is also tolerant and does not get upset when he has someone on his back that may be giving him cues without realizing it. Ranger rides beautifully in the arena. He likes to do gaming patterns and will even take a jump. Ranger is excellent out on the trail. He is very sensible and mellow. Just about anyone could ride this horse out there. He will go out alone or with others. Doesn't mind leaving the group and he could careless if the group canters away without him which is extremely hard to find as horses have such a natural, ingrained herd instinct. He will bush wack, go through water, mud, and jump logs. He is very sure footed and obviously has spent a lot of time navigating a trail. Canters out in a big field without getting too excited, and doesn't get competitive when another horse passes him. I also ponied little kids off him. Doesn't mind being tail gated or passed. We has used him to move horses and he seems to have some cow sense that could be put to use in team penning or sorting. Doesn't mind a rope being swung around or touching him in the legs, belly, bum, etc. He stands quietly for mounting and dismounting. Will stand all day at the hitching pole next to horses he does not know; didn't even pin his ears. Great for bridling and tacking. Stands for grooming and bathing. Loads right into the trailer. Ranger could excel in any discipline. He would be great for english or western showing, gaming, cow work, or trail riding. $4,300 Watch video of Ranger and other horses for sale at www.mountainviewranchhorses.biz
