Jinx offered up for adoption:
Needs a forever home: he will be kept at our place until he can be placed.. we will check out any potential adopters.. they can come out and try him out.. both in the paddock and on the trail if they feel comfortable.. he's been ridden both english and western.. snaffle bit and hackamore..he's very calm, and curious around children, very much a ham and sweet calm ground manners.. loves to be groomed.
Jinx is an off the track Standardbred. His racing name was Overtime Flip.
I recommend an experienced rider, and professional training until Jinx learns how to be a proper saddle horse.

The US Harness Racing Association said he was named Overtime Flip because he was born during the last quarter of the Superbowl one January. The game had gone into overtime, and apparently a a 'flip' was made just as the foal was born.
"Jinxy" hasn't had any professional saddle training.. we just placed a saddle on his back, lunged him a bit, and 'got on'. He's done well.. we've ridden him on trails... 'newbies' have been on.. we've had him on judged trail rides.. and he's been over obstacles such as bridges, tarps, and done very well.
Jinx does show his 'attitude' when he chooses to, he will give a little rear when he thinks he can intimidate the rider. He's not cued to leg commands, and doesn't really know the meaning of back up, and neck reining. He is my husband's horse, who is really more used to a western style horse. I think with someone more adept at training, Jinx would be a sweet prospect for trail.. english pleasure, or even jumping. We obviously know he is trained to drive :).
The people we got him from said he never really raced, even though he was trained to, because he was 'too curious' on the track. He would stop and stare at dogs... people.. want to interact with everyone. He is a friendly boy!
Jinx would do well in a pasture with mares or geldings.. he tends to be dom over mares.. he's not 'mean' per se... just meanders over them by sheer weight and is piggy with grain.. he gobbles..
He prefers not to be stall kept, he will get bored.
He is FAST, and likes to have toys, like a ball in the pasture, he'll pick it up and play with it!
Prospective buyers are welcome to come out and ride him, I reccommend a moderate to experienced rider, he could try to intimidate a green rider.
We are located in Felton
